Our story

For my family, getting toys as gifts usually leads to more clutter and fleeting moments of fun.

I soon realized that my friends were facing a similar dilemma. Many birthday invitations would specify “NO GIFTS, PLEASE!” or “No gifts required,” which I knew (and confirmed) was their way of dealing with the flood of excess. People would still give gifts. So why not channel that desire in a better way?

Giving gifts feels good. Culturally, it’s been a way my family and many others show their love, but it has added a lot of stress in my life: both as a gift giver and a gift receiver. I looked for a way off the gifting hamsterwheel and set out to make gifting fun, easy, and uplifting. I ended up creating a way to choose lasting local memories and skip the stuff.
